To my mother in heaven. Thank you for always loving and guiding me. It’s been a year since you left us, I can still feel your love guiding me. You will always be in my thoughts. I adore you and miss you dearly.
A mother’s love knows no bounds. She was the most loving, compassionate, understanding, family-orientated woman yet one of the most successful in her ambitions and career. A woman capable of balancing work and family in her natural stride without compromising either.
She didn’t tell us to be strong she showed us.
A visionary who chose to leave her career in the Armed Forces midway in order to launch the most iconic weight loss clinic of Karachi. Physicians and surgeons in the Military usually provide comprehensive medical care to personnel and their families. After observing the need due to obesity related diseases, high blood pressure, heart diseases, diabetes etc. Moreover, the socio-cultural problems at large in the country. She took the risk to pursue her ambition elsewhere. A trendsetting entrepreneur of her time.
A Brief Profile Of Dr. Najma Haseeb Qureshi (1946-2022)
Born in Peshawar. She completed her M.B.B.S Graduation in 1969 from Dow Medical College in Karachi.
Joined Pakistan ARMY in 1975 and served at the Combined Military Hospital in Lahore.
Meanwhile, relocating to Karachi at the Pakistan Navy Shifa Hospital and took early retirement on the rank of Lt.Commander in 1985.
Subsequently establishing a first of its kind medically supervised nutritional program leading to specialized (weight loss) clinic in 1985. After observing the need due to obesity related diseases, high blood pressure, heart diseases, diabetes etc. Moreover, the socio-cultural problems at large.
Firstly, the ISC was launched in 1985 and remain situated at the Tipu Sultan Road in Karachi until 2007. Secondly, It was relocated to Clifton Block 3 and remains functional to date.

To my mother in heaven, you will always be in our hearts. Including Her 3 children and their families and a wonderful (supporting) husband, our father who mourns her loss equally if not more. It is because of this special bond that makes imagining our world without her feel unfathomable.
Losing a mother is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know. But her goodness, her caring, and her wisdom live on-like a legacy of love that will always be with you. My mother is a never ending story. There are no goodbyes for us.
Ammi, your love is still our guide, although we cannot see you, you’re always at our side.
